Wood panel sourcing: how to prepare a complete inquiry
Clear specifications and delivery requirements help you obtain useful, comparable quotations.
Published by Lianyungang Yuantai International Trade Co., Ltd.
Start with the intended use
Tell us whether the panels are intended for furniture, interior decoration, packaging or concrete formwork. Send drawings or photographs if they help explain the application. Confirm project and destination requirements before selecting a panel.
Prepare a comparable specification
Include panel length, width, thickness and tolerances; core and face requirements; surface finish; and any required test reports or standards. State whether alternatives are acceptable. Product names alone are not enough to compare quotations.
State quantity and delivery requirements
Provide quantity in sheets, cubic metres or containers, the destination port and country, desired shipment timing and requested trade term. Ask the supplier to state what is included in the quotation. Loading quantity depends on the final dimensions, packaging and shipping constraints.
Confirm samples and documents
Before placing an order, agree on sample requirements, the specification to be confirmed, packaging marks and required shipment documents. Confirm certificates for the exact product and supplying production partner; availability should be verified for each order.
Send a clear request for quotation
Copy this checklist into your inquiry: application; product; dimensions and thickness; core and surface; required standards; quantity; destination port; trade term; target shipment date; sample and packaging requirements. Final price, availability and delivery timing are confirmed in the quotation and contract.
